All You Need To Know
Global Investor Program (GIP) Scheme is administered by Contact Singapore, a division of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). It aims to assist and help potential business owners, entrepreneurs and investors who are interested in relocating to and investing in Singapore.
From 15 March 2023, the new requirements for the three investment options are:
Option A: Invest at least S$ 10 million in a new business entity or in the expansion of an existing business operation.
Option B: Invest at least S$ 25 million in an approved GIP-select fund that invests in Singapore-based companies plus the implementation of a business plan in Singapore.
Option C (Family Office Option): Establish a new or existing Singapore-based Single Family Office (SFO), with assets under management of at least S$ 200 million (offshore assets qualified as part of AUM requirement, provided at least S$ 50 million of assets transferred into and held in Singapore, with remaining S$ 150 million in offshore assets).
Qualifying Criteria
1. Established Business Owners

The investor must possess at least 3 years of entrepreneurial and successful business track record.

Investors must own at least 30% equity of a company (or a consolidation of up to two companies) and must produce audited financial statements of their company for the 3 years prior to their application.

The company’s turnover must be at least S$ 200 million in the year immediately preceding application and at least S$ 200 million per annum on average for the previous three years.

The company must be engaged in one or more of the industries listed in Annex B.
2. Next Generation Business Owners

The investor’s immediate family must own at least 30% equity of a company (or a consolidation of up to two companies) or is the largest shareholder to quality.

Investors must produce audited financial statements of their company for the three years prior to their application.

The company’s turnover must be at least S$ 500 million in the year immediately preceding application and at least S$ 500 million per annum on average for the previous three years.

The investor needs to be a member of the company’s management board.

The company must be engaged in one or more of the industries listed in Annex B.
3. Founders of Fast Growth Companies

The investor must be a founder and one of the largest individual shareholders of a company, with a valuation of at least S$ 500 million.

The company must be invested into by reputable Venture Capital/Private Equity firms AND must be engaged in one or more of the industries listed in Annex B.
4. Family Office Principals

The investor must possess at least 5 years of entrepreneurial, investment or management track record AND net investible assets of at least S$ 200 million.

This category of applicant is restricted to the Family Office Option.
(NB: Net Investible Assets include all financial assets, such as bank deposits, capital market products, collective investment schemes, premiums paid in respect of life insurance policies and other investment products, excluding real estate.)
